MOSCW was founded by Ryo Jones, an English-Japanese art historian and artist based in London.

Jones holds a BA in History of Art from the University of Bristol and an MA in History of Art from The Courtauld Institute of Art. At the Courtauld he specialised in the relationship between music and visual art, with a particular focus on the appropriation, remediation and reproduction of artworks from 1840 to the present. This work also informed a broader interest in ekphrasis, poetry and language as frameworks for interpreting and translating artworks across media.

His work spans archival cataloguing, curatorial research, auctions and interdisciplinary artistic projects.

MOSCW was established as a research-led cultural agency developing collaborations between artists, designers and cultural institutions, and operates between London and Tokyo on projects worldwide.

MOSCW は、ロンドンを拠点とする英日系の美術史家・アーティスト、リョウ・ジョーンズによって設立されました。

ジョーンズはブリストル大学で美術史の学士号を取得後、コートールド美術研究所（The Courtauld Institute of Art）にて美術史の修士号を取得しました。コートールドでは音楽と視覚芸術の関係性を専門とし、特に1840 年以降における芸術作品のアプロプリエーション（転用）、リメディエーション（再媒介化）、および再生産のプロセスに関心を寄せてきました。またこの関心は、エクフラシス、詩、言語を通して作品を異なるメディア間で解釈・翻訳する枠組みへと発展しています。

彼の活動は、アーカイブ資料のカタログ化、キュラトリアル・リサーチ、オークション業務、そして分野横断的な芸術プロジェクトに及びます。

MOSCWは、アーティスト、デザイナー、文化機関との協働を展開するリサーチ主導のカルチュラル・エージェンシーとして設立され、ロンドンと東京を拠点に世界各地でプロジェクトを行っています。
